VANDEVEN DELUXE
VANDEVEN DELUXE is nestled in the oldest part of The Hague, near the Great Church (St. James's Church) and just a short walk from the Royal Palace and the Binnenhof. This historical area, then and now the vibrant heart of the city, was first illuminated by candle lanterns in 1570 by an ordinance of The Hague Magistrate. With a total of 33 lanterns installed, The Hague became the first Dutch town to introduce public street lighting. Local chandlers, organized under the St. Nicholas Guild, were responsible for the production and supply of the candles.
Today, VANDEVEN DELUXE sheds a new light on the age-old tradition of candle making. Where the early artisans before us, some 500 years ago, provided illumination out of civic necessity, our chandlery crafts candles into an individual luxury experience. Moreover, we advocate the elevation of burning candles, embracing this as a personal ritual rather than a mindless habit. Candle with care: take a moment to pause and reflect as you light it. Then, as long as it burns, remain mindful of the light and warmth of the flame you have sparked.
Every single candle that leaves our chandlery, is a 100% Dutch product, proudly designed, poured, and perfected right here in the Netherlands. VANDEVEN DELUXE consciously chooses to formulate its candles using premium, locally sourced European rapeseed wax, that offers a cleaner, slower, and far superior burn compared with soy wax. For our floral fragrances, we draw inspiration from the lush, historic Palace Garden just around our corner. It was there that we fell under the spell of the majestic Chinese linden; enchanted by its beauty and magical scent, we embraced its delicate blossoms as our signature emblem.
The experience of luxury extends far beyond the flame. Each VANDEVEN DELUXE candle is housed in an exceptionally luxurious, sustainable gift box, adorned with refined double satin ribbon. We work generously with gold accents and intricate gilded details that catch the light, ensuring that unboxing becomes a celebration in itself. Our candles are fully personalized to make the experience uniquely yours, as an individual statement of luxury.

Om een constante, perfecte kwaliteit en veiligheid te garanderen, produceren wij onze kaarsen onder gecontroleerde omstandigheden in Nederland. Handwerk gaat hierbij samen met moderne techniek, waarbij we gebruikmaken van hoogwaardige, zo duurzaam mogelijke componenten, zoals koolzaadwas van Europese oorsprong. Koolzaadwas heeft een veel schonere, langzamere en daardoor superieure verbranding vergeleken met bijvoorbeeld sojawas. Voor de geur vinden wij onze inspiratie in de Paleistuin op een steenworp afstand van onze chandlery, waarna professionele parfumeurs de vertaalslag maken naar de aromatische olie, die in een uitgebalanceerde verhouding met de was wordt gemengd.

Here, the art of handcrafting harmonizes with modern innovation, utilizing the finest and most sustainable ingredients available, such as European rapeseed wax. Compared to traditional soy wax, rapeseed wax offers a remarkably cleaner, slower, and altogether superior burn.
For our fragrances, we draw inspiration from the tranquil Palace Garden, located just steps away from our chandlery. Master perfumers then translate these poetic moments into exquisite aromatic oils, expertly blended with the wax in harmonious proportion.
